Jack is an accomplished Research Economist endowed with over 8 years’ hands-on experience in managing and leading research, performance measurement and monitoring initiatives that have informed policy decisions by Multilateral Agencies of both technical and development nature. He is highly adept in designing performance tracking frameworks and data management with key credentials of generating highly resourceful learning briefs.
His specialty is in agricultural sector-related research projects, resilience, health and financial inclusion, and has successfully completed numerous consultancy assignments for different organizations including; International Water Management Institute (IWMI), CARE international, Somalia Resilience Program (SomRep) and FAO Somalia. Prior to this role, he led the development of a strategic plan for disaster and risk recovery for South West State- Somalia, covering the period 2020-2023. He was also the lead third-party impact assessment and performance measurement expert for FAO Somalia’s projects in agriculture, livestock and cash-based interventions whose outputs instigated program restructuring and bundling for optimal outcomes.
Jack has also worked with FSD-Kenya, where he supported the digital financial products audit, transparency and disclosure work as well as the cost of banking in Kenya projects-which all contributed to the debate on consumer protection and more so the low-income groups including small holders. He holds a Master of science degree in health economics and policy from the University of Nairobi and a bachelor’s degree in Agricultural economics from the same institution.
